Secondary-school anti-scam reel competition: school nomination, deadline noon on 7 December

Explain one anti-scam message in 45–60 seconds. Secondary 1–6 students need school nomination in teams of 2–4; check subtitles, originality and AI disclosure before filming.

School-nominated teams, not an adult open category

The Communications Authority’s “Let’s Join Hands to Fight Phone Scams” reel competition is for Hong Kong Secondary 1–6 students. Each school may nominate up to two teams of 2–4 students, with one entry per team. By noon Hong Kong time on 7 December 2026, upload the reel and email OFCA the entry form and accessible video link; OFCA’s receipt time determines acceptance. Reels must run 45–60 seconds in 1080p MP4, in Chinese or English with subtitles; 16:9 is recommended. Include an anti-scam slogan of no more than 20 Chinese characters or English words. Entries must be original, never publicly broadcast or entered in another competition. Role-play performers must attend participating schools, and AI-generated materials require clear in-video subtitle disclosure. Read the official site for full eligibility, rights and submission rules.

Our practical suggestions

Make one protective action clear

Our suggestion: start with a familiar situation, such as a message impersonating an organisation. Set out what happens, what to pause and where to verify, then explain it in a few shots. Check the message, obtain filming consent and exclude real personal details or suspicious links. Ask classmates watching a test screening to name the one action they would take.

  • Has the school confirmed its nomination places, team eligibility and person responsible for submission?
  • Can viewers understand one practical anti-scam action within a minute?
  • Have you checked subtitles, material rights, AI disclosure and the complete uploaded video link?
