Y.E.S. Photography Competition 2026: capture human value at work by 20 November
Explore “Jobs that AI cannot replace” through real photography and words about human skills and connection at work. Y.E.S. members may enter individually; check membership validity and the entry rules first.
Who can enter, and what must you submit?
The Labour Department’s Youth Employment Start (Y.E.S.) runs its 2026 photography competition around “Jobs that AI cannot replace”, inviting images and words about the human value and warmth of work. Youth.gov.hk featured it on 23 October. Entrants must be Y.E.S. members whose membership remains valid on 30 January 2027. Membership generally serves people aged 15–29 who can legally work and reside in Hong Kong, with additional residence-status restrictions. Check the official membership page; online pre-registration still requires in-person confirmation. Submit one original photograph taken in Hong Kong: no aerial, AI-generated, previously published or previously entered images. Use JPEG, JPG or PNG, at least 2048 pixels wide and no larger than 20MB. Email the image and entry form to info@e-start.gov.hk by 11:59pm Hong Kong time on Friday, 20 November 2026. Anyone under 18 at the deadline needs a parent or guardian’s signature. Queensway suggests: observe before pressing the shutter
Start with one moment that calls for judgement, empathy or craft. Explain your purpose to the person you photograph, seek consent and describe the human quality you observed in a few clear sentences. Keep the entry off social media before submission to preserve its unpublished status. Allow time to check membership, parental signatures, files and usage-rights terms. Treat this as a career-observation exercise; the theme is no guarantee about any occupation’s future.
